Key Discussions: Taiwan Tensions and Trade Progress in Beijing Summit

During the talks, Xi Jinping warned that tensions over Taiwan could become extremely dangerous if handled incorrectly. Chinese officials pushed for the United States to reduce pressure on Beijing over tariffs, technology restrictions, and military support for Taiwan. Trump maintained support for existing US policies while also attempting to improve economic cooperation between both countries. Trade and economics became one of the biggest subjects of discussion. Trump claimed progress had been made on possible agreements involving Boeing aircraft, agricultural exports, oil purchases, and market access for American companies operating in China. However, analysts noted that few concrete agreements were officially confirmed by the end of the summit.
